The Simpsons has just celebrated its 20^th anniversary. It has become world’s longest running animated comedy show on small screens. It has achieved the heights and proved its status through record breaking 20 years.

 

Marge, Homer, Bart, Santa’s Little Helper (dog), Snowball II (cat), Lisa, and Maggie all these characters of The Simpsons TV show have become frequent names among the viewers. All are quite familiar with family members of The Simpsons episodes.

These twenty years of The Simpsons have passed in the limelight. Some of its viewers were seen condemning this TV show and some of them were commending this sitcom.

 

From a writer’s view:

For many fans - particularly hard-core followers in the mold of the show’s sneering Comic Book Guy - the glory days are long past. Some refuse to watch anymore; others admit they still find it funny, but they’re disappointed the show didn’t bow out at the top of its game.

 

So it is clear that people don’t like the shows until these shows deliver what they want and they soon get bored when TV shows are unsuccessful in providing the viewers what they have been looking for. Most of the people easily get frustrated by watching same stuff for a long time.

 

But The Simpsons has won fame in spite of all rumors and criticism. That is why it has become a highly rated show among American TV shows. The satire of Simpsons’s show represents the real stuff of American middle class families.

 

That’s why satire in the show seems so real as if they were a part of our life. And it does happen in the life of every ordinary person. This can be the foremost reason for its huge popularity.

 

Leading toward the conclusion, I would like to say that no one can change the mentality of people neither writers nor these TV shows.
